PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo (BGCT) is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven, and results-oriented Annual & Individual Giving Leader to lead and grow the organization's annual giving program and individual donor pipeline.
This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive annual and individual giving strategy that increases donor acquisition, retention, stewardship, recurring giving, leadership annual giving, and long-term donor engagement.
This position serves as the organization's primary leader for building a sustainable individual donor pipeline that cultivates supporters from first-time gifts through leadership giving and major gift qualification.
This position focuses exclusively on individual philanthropy and donor engagement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Annual Giving Strategy & Growth (40%)
- Develop and execute a comprehensive annual giving strategy designed to increase individual donor participation and revenue.
- Manage annual fund campaigns across direct mail, digital, social media, peer-to-peer, and multi-channel fundraising efforts.
- Establish annual giving goals, donor segmentation strategies, and year-round cultivation plans.
- Grow recurring and monthly giving programs.
- Develop leadership annual giving initiatives targeting donors in the $1,000-$10,000 range.
- Partner with marketing and communications staff to create compelling donor messaging and impact storytelling.
- Donor Stewardship & Retention (25%)
- Design and implement a best-in-class donor stewardship program.
- Ensure timely donor acknowledgment, recognition, and reporting.
- Develop donor journeys that strengthen engagement and increase donor retention.
- Create personalized cultivation and stewardship opportunities for annual donors.
- Monitor retention trends and implement strategies to increase donor loyalty.
- Individual Donor Acquisition & Engagement (20%)
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward new individual donors.
- Build relationships with Club alumni, grandparents, parents, volunteers, and community supporters.
- Develop strategies to re-engage lapsed donors and increase donor participation.
- Represent BGCT throughout the community to identify new philanthropic relationships.
- Donor Pipeline & Major Gift Qualification (10%)
- Develop and manage a donor moves-management process.
- Identify and qualify leadership and major gift prospects.
- Partner with the Vice President of Development and President & CEO to transition qualified prospects into major gift portfolios.
- Utilize donor analytics and wealth screening tools to strengthen prospect identification.
- Administration & Reporting (5%)
- Maintain accurate donor records and activity tracking within the donor database.
- Develop fundraising dashboards and performance metrics.
- Monitor annual giving revenue, donor retention, acquisition, and pipeline performance.
- Prepare reports and analyses for leadership and Board committees.
• Support the Mission, vision, and values of the BGCT in all professional activities and interactions.
• Participate in organizational, community, and Board-related advancement initiatives as appropriate.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible fundraising, advancement, development, or philanthropy experience.
• Demonstrated success in annual giving, donor stewardship, donor acquisition, and relationship management.
• Experience managing donor databases and fundraising analytics.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to build authentic relationships with donors, volunteers, and community leaders.
• Highly organized with strong project management capabilities.
• Experience in annual giving, alumni relations, constituent engagement, or individual philanthropy.
• Experience within higher education, healthcare philanthropy, community foundations, youth-serving organizations, or nonprofit advancement.
• Familiarity with donor segmentation, donor journeys, recurring giving programs, and moves management strategies.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• This is a full-time, exempt position. Work schedule generally includes Monday through Friday business hours with periodic evening and weekend responsibilities associated with donor engagement, stewardship events, community functions, and organizational activities.
