Summary:
The purpose of the Club Dining Professional is to provide our members by setting up, serving meals and snacks along with cleaning up once members are finished. In addition, the Club Dining Professional position is to provide participatory educational and recreational service experiences for Boys & Girls Club members.  This is accomplished through the implementation of a weekly program plan that includes tournaments and contests, skills classes, and participatory displays based on where you are placed daily.  The Club Dining Professional is assigned to a controlled area where members utilize the available equipment, educational activities and have FUN! Mentoring both individually and in groups, occurs daily.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Related – In order to provide a quality experience for Boys & Girls Club members, the Club Dining Professional conducts tournaments or contests daily.
 
  • Supervise and maintain control of assigned relief area.
 
  • Check at the beginning of each working day for schedule changes.
 
  • Communicate with department instructor regarding job functions at the beginning and end of relief period.
 
  • Assume any routine duties of person being relieved.
 
  • Record member’s card numbers on the number sheet.
 
  • Other miscellaneous responsibilities as assigned.

The above program activities should reflect specific age groups and boy/girl/coed opportunities.

Non-Program Related – In addition to program duties, Club Dining Professional are expected to:
 
  • Maintain attractive up-to-date bulletin boards.
  • Maintain equipment and make minor repairs.
  • At the end of the program, the activity area should be orderly and tidy.
  • Assist with supervision of hallways and areas adjacent to the programming area assigned.
  • Provide attractive display of reading materials and encourage reading by members.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Possess a car to drive to and from work.
  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of you people.
  • Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform required duties.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must pass an FBI/BCI background check.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
